Why There Should Be Lewis And Clark Camping Gear
Lewis and Clark are known as the greatest explorers this country has ever known. They forged out into the wilderness and blazed a trail where few have ever been before. Their efforts opened up a whole new world to the people of that time and changed this country forever. It only seems fair that these brave men should be honored with a complete line of Lewis and Clark and outdoor supplies.

There are a few products that could fall into the category of Lewis and Clark camping gear. Camp Chef offers a line of commemorative cookware that has the names of Lewis and Clark on them. Included in this collection are a Dutch oven, and an assortment of cast iron skillets. These items can be purchased as collector's items, or they can be used as fully functional cookware.
You can also purchase a few other items of Lewis and Clark camping gear. There are replica items that represent the equipment that they probably used during their journey. One such item is a leather backpack with adjustable straps. This too can either be a collector's item, or if you so choose, it can be used for its original purpose. In addition to this, you can also purchase replicas of guns and boats and other items that may have been used by these explorers.
Wouldn't it be a good idea to produce a full line of Lewis and Clark camping gear? You could make these items to closely resemble the items that they actually used. You can imagine the type of early outdoor gear that they probably had to use. The cookware we spoke of earlier is probably close to the actual tools that they were using at the time.
You could make clothing that resembled the original designs that they wore, but at the same time, they could have all of the features on the inside that make today's outdoor clothing so good. This same thing could be done with sleeping bags and tents. They could have all of the practical advancements that today's versions have, but they would maintain the authentic look of what these early explorers would have been using.
There would probably be a great number of people that would be willing to purchase these items. History buffs would find it fascinating as well. They would be functional as well as appropriate for the period they were used in. Here's hoping that someone takes this idea and runs with it, creating a complete line of Lewis and Clark camping gear.
