A Simple Guide To Camping And Hiking Gear

Many individuals often spend time camping and hiking during summertime just to get away from the stresses of civilization. With the convenience of modern technology, many campers set out on nature trip with fully-furnished RVs and trailers, especially when the rest of the family tags along. More adventurous campers prefer to do it "the old fashion way" by braving nature with their feet and some camping and hiking gear.

Hiking, on the other hand, is almost always associated with camping. When going out on a mountain trail that will take days of journey, it is necessary to camp out at night to rest, and start again in the morning. But before you brave the wilds, it is very important to bring along necessary camping and hiking gear that will help you brave and survive what nature has to offer.

Camping and Hiking 101

There's a wide range of camping and hiking gear depending on the complexity of your camping and hiking trip. Whether in a forest path or up a mountain trail, it is very important to pack what you need to be able to survive with all the convenience available to you.

The most basic camping and hiking gear are for shelter. Tents and sleeping bags are the only protection you have against the wrath of nature. Tents can shelter you from the rain and offer some protection from animals in the wild. Sleeping bags can provide comfort especially when you are planning to rest on rough terrains. Not only will they keep you warm on cold nights, the thick padding of some sleeping bags can provide much needed comfort of most rugged terrains.

The backpack is another necessary camping and hiking gear that you should always have with you. If your camping and hiking trip will take you days away from civilization, you need to have one backpack with sufficient size and compartment to hold all your "bare necessities". Different compartments will allow you to segregate important camping and hiking gear like cooking tools, first aid and medical kits, hooks and straps for tents to hang on, ropes, flashlights, spare batteries, and with sufficient room for clothing and other necessities.

Another important camping and hiking gear is a portable cooking stove and a mini gas tank. There may be times when you might encounter difficulties in setting up a camp fire especially during rainy seasons. These portable cooking stoves attached on top of a mini gas tank can provide you with some heat during cold and wet nights, and providing a perfect cooking area to make your much needed meals.

Preparing the proper camping and hiking gear is one of the essentials before going out with nature. Not only will these help you survive the wilds, it can also provide you with the convenience you need to make the rough outdoor bearable.
